Over the past three years, hundreds of students have united together in the efforts to build a school and provide education for their peers half a world away. Through the fund raising efforts of the project chair, Laurabeth Goldsmith, and the help of assistant project chairs, Jackie Allegra and Faisal Sikdar, as well as grants given by Rotary and Kiwanis International the dream is very close to a reality. This school would give the gift of education to 300 children daily, and provide clean water, food, and shelter to the local village in the Khalapara Region of Bangladesh. This project is the result of a partnerhip between: Girl Scouts, Key Club, Rotary, and Kiwanis. This project is based out of Pine View School in Sarasota, Florida. The school is set to be completed by December 2012.
